Finca Familia Valverde is located in Palmichal de Acosta, right in the sweet spot between the Valle Central and Los Santos regions.Coffee is grown under native shade trees and is watered by the Tabarcia river, which flows right through the center of the farm.
Coffee cherry is selectively handpicked and processed at Palmichal micromill. Ripe, red cherry is pulped so that about 65% of the mucilage remains on the bean. Parchment and mucilage is laid on raised beds to sundry. Parchment is raked frequently to ensure even drying. It sundries dries for about 6 days before being finished in a drum dryer to control humidity levels.Once dry, parchment is rested at the micromill for 2 months before being dry milled and prepared for export.
